Koomilya DC Block Shiraz
Wine
S.C. Pannell Koomilya DC Block Shiraz is handpicked from a single block of McLaren Vale Shiraz planted in the late 19th century. It is named after previous owner Don Cant.
Koomilya means 'woman' in the Port Lincoln Aboriginal dialect, resonating with winemaker and founder Steve Pannell's love of the idea of Mother Earth.
The winemaking is free from artifice. Koomilya DC Block Shiraz is made identically to its sibling JC Block Shiraz, allowing Mother Earth to speak for herself in both wines.
The wine spends 10 days on skins before it is pressed to tank. It is then transferred to seasoned oak puncheons for malolactic fermentation and 12-14 months of maturation.
Deep dark red, S.C. Pannell Koomilya DC Block Shiraz is full bodied with rich dark fruit flavours and ripe tannins. Cellaring potential is 15 years.
